Training

During 15’s season, which runs November-May, the Old Aztecs practice at Robb Field in Ocean Beach.

We train Tuesdays/Thursdays, 7pm to 9pm in the Quad (right next to the Robb Field Fitness center).

Training Requirements

Learning the game of rugby takes time and patience. However, we accept all players of any rugby level. All you need to do is show up with a good attitude and be eager to learn the game. Fitness is obviously a vital part of the game, so expect to do a good amount of running and physical exercise. Also expect to get dirty.
 
We recommend you bring athletic clothes (running or basketball shorts and a sturdy nylon t-shirt) you don’t care to rip, and cleats (soccer or rugby preferred, but football could work). Training can get physical so not all clothing items will make it. If you like the game you can visit World Rugby Shop to buy rugby shorts, jerseys, socks, and other rugby specific gear. Also bring along a mouth guard to protect the money makers. 
 
No other gear is required when you start. If you feel the need to buy additional protective gear, those are available at World Rugby.
