Coach Adam Kreutter
Assistant Coach - Forwards
Adam “Bacon” Kreutter grew up in the Upstate NY rugby community and started playing rugby competitively in 2002 with his dad, Paul Kreutter, as his first coach. In his playing days, he took the pitch with various clubs in the Northeast, Midwest, Deep South, SoCal and Australia and has made appearances with Wisconsin Collegiate Selects, All Navy Rugby and Combined Sea Services Rugby. He started playing for the OAs in 2012.
Bacon has been coaching rugby since 2010 at the high school, collegiate and adult levels for clubs across the country. Locally, he has been coaching for the Young Aztecs since 2016, the OAs since 2018, and St Augustine High School since 2021.
Coach Justice Cummins
Assistant Coach - Backs
Justice Cummins came up through the Young Aztecs rugby umbrella, playing his youth footy at Patrick Henry High School and the local Spring club seasons. In the Fall of 2014, he began volunteer coaching at his alma mater as the Backs Coach at Patrick Henry High School under Old Aztecs legend Greg Chronopolis. Justice continued his playing career post-high school as well with the Old Aztecs, Point Loma Nazarene University, Pacific Coast Grizzlies, and Renegades Rugby. He received his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from San Diego State University in 2020.
Following the pandemic and global return to play, Coach Justice took a more serious pursuit to coaching as he started offering independent coaching sessions and was hired as the Attack Coach at Saint Augustine High School, where he has made multiple SCIRF championship appearances. In 2023, during his inaugural season as head coach, the OMBAC Youth Wallabies won the Southern California Youth Rugby D2 Championship. Throughout the past 4 years, he has made strides in his coaching education via the Crusaders Coaching Leadership Program, shadowing USA 7's Coach Mike Friday at the Olympic Training Center, completing San Diego Legion Senior Coaching Courses, and working as a Liaison Officer with the Irish 7's team. Justice looks to bring his learnings over his 10-year coaching career to the Old Aztecs 7's squad this year to foster a culture of family, accountability, and constant improvement.
The young coach believes in playing rugby in the direction the world stage is heading in. He looks to provide his players and the rugby community with a coaching style, strategy, and player skillset that is up-to-date with the current landscape of the top teams in the world. His life's mission is to foster a higher level of rugby, both competitively and culturally, in the United States in hopes of seeing USA Rugby become a revered national program on the world circuit.
